On Tuesday 19th June it was the turn of TriSpirit to host their
fortnightly 10 on the Q10/1, a warm sunny evening with a light southerly
breeze brought out 34 riders, TriSpirits largest field of the year.
Four Thorntons took part, Steve Trek and Jari making their 10 debuts for
the year and finishing with 27.15 and 31.15. I managed a 24.57, John
was the best with a storming 24.18.
The following evening Don was the
only Thornton at the Ashford Wheelers 10 on the Q10/38, cruising round
in 25.30. Sundays VTTA 25 on the Q25/8 was cancelled due to a
waterlogged course, more bad weather on the Q25/8. A week later Thanet
RC hosted an open 25 on the fast Q25/10 Nick was the only Thornton with a
scorching 1.03.14 which i believe is a PB, Well done Nick.
Not a Time
Trial but worth a mention, John and Tess ( on the tandem ) took part in
the SFA 300 K Audax getting round in just over 15 hours. Just another
day at the office for John but top marks to Tess.
