RE: Meeting to outline Core Social Events for Thornton Road Club for 2013 (to be put forward/proposed at the AGM.  To take place on Wednesday 23 January 2013, at 7pm at The Red Lion Pub, Red Lion Square, Hythe CT21 5AU (table in dining area).

Aims:

·         The meeting to run swiftly through items, 1 ¼ hours max if possible

·         Firstly to agree core activities for 2013 (ie those that are likely to occur annually and require good support from club members because of costs and organisation involved). From the impression I gather from people in the club generally ….we only need 3 or 4 core events 

·         Time permitting – to discuss other events

·         To put forward Events for the Thornton Website Calendar. Beside each key activity listed on the website - to list a key contact so that anyone wanting further information on that event can call that person. 

·         Where appropriate to enlist three people to organise each social event

**This meeting is an opportunity for individuals who know they will be participating in an event this year to put it forward and get it included on the website calendar (and ideally to put themselves forward as a contact for anyone who wishes to enquire about this event).  Individuals can forward information to Don throughout the year as usual but it is good to list items now if known.

Agenda

·         to be discussed because it is forthcoming…..26 January Presentation Night.

·         Gentle Family Cycle on the Marsh followed by a BBQ in front of Hythe Imperial/Mercurial.

(to encourage younger/new members)

·         Christmas Lunch/Event (to include Presentation, Raffle, Quiz/Games).  This is an opportunity to also discuss the presentation, which will form part of the Christmas Event.

·         Social Events Sub Committee (to include Social Secretary and up to 5 others). The aim will be for this group to represent the views of the Club, meet in the year and propose Core Events for the AGM.

·         Other social Events

The Event list outlined is by no way comprehensive, as other people organise activities in the year and this is very welcome. 

·         AGM: To be held on Wednesday 6 March at 7.30pm at The Red Lion Pub, Red Lion Square, Hythe CT21 5AU (back room)
