Channel 50 Challenge Timed Event
Team Thornton A (John Laker, Trevor Hammond, Phil Cook and Jamie Parr) won the 50mile timed team event today. Despite it not being a race, there were trophies presented!! Team Italia (David, Martin, Kelvin and Jeremy) merrily passed Thornton RC 2 (Toby and I) at 40miles chanting allez, allez, allez....very helpful when trying to repair my puncture! Kelvin was going to stop, but he was under team orders.....
But it wasn't a race.
Great day, lovely route and the finish at The Star was very sociable. Music from the Military Wives Shorncliffe and BBQ.
Nice to see Geoff, Tess and Gordon welcoming us home. Stephen, Stephen, Roy and Jane all enjoyed the ride too.
