Steve Ratcliffe
with 'Anastasia'

The Allin cycle which Steve now owns (passed on to him by fellow club member Russ Mason), was originally purchased in Croydon by Heather Reeves (nee Heather Cummins) in 1954 when she first joined Thornton. Originally silver, then resprayed pink, before becoming it's present colour of dark racing green. It's no doubt been on thousands of club runs and was also used for racing including national championships.
Steve has now converted it to a single speed model with equipment from the likes of Sturmey Archer. Heather passed away in recent years leaving husband John, 3 daughters and 3 grand daughters.

Heather certainly did her part by keeping the Thornton Club going, also finding time to rescue sick and injured birds, dogs and other animals. A great lady and inspiration to us all.
