Thornton Geriatrics Conquer Mt. Ventoux

Tony Norgate and Paul Elliman ventured out to Provence and Mont Ventoux for the Tour last week.

Weather was great and when we ascended Ventoux it reached 38 degrees in the Forest.

It was a fantastic feeling when we reached the top with hearts pumping madly and lungs bursting.

We found the climb very hard but a brilliant experience and had to compensate that evening with loads of beer and food of which the restaurants and bars of Provence are very good at producing.

On the Sunday we watched Le Tour ride up the mountain and cheered on Froome for all we were worth – what a great man he his!

The L’Uberon National Park is a great place for a cycling holiday and we would thoroughly recommend it.
